2024 PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY NEWS

To All Hagar Township Electors on the Permanent Absent Voter Ballot List:

Ballot Selection Forms were mailed today. To vote absentee in the Presidential Primary on February 27, 2024, you must select which ballot you wish to receive - Democratic or Republican. Complete the form and send it back in the included prepaid envelope or drop it off at Hagar Township Hall in-person or in the new ballot Drop Box located outside opposite the front door. The form clearly states that if you do not return the form, you will not receive a ballot.

To All Hagar Township Electors on the Permanent Absent Voter Ballot Application List:

Applications for absent voter ballots were mailed today. This is the last time they will be sent. The Permanent Absent Voter Ballot Application List made it possible for electors to have absentee ballot applications sent to them automatically. However, it was never codified into law and is being replaced by the Permanent Absent Voter Ballot List as part of Proposal 2022-2 that was passed last November.

The new law allows an elector to complete a one-time application to receive an absentee ballot for all elections moving forward. To be added to the permanent list, check the box on the application when it arrives. If you prefer not to be added, you may request absentee ballots for any future election online at mi.gov/vote or in person by visiting the clerk's office.
